Hey Douglas,

Great question.

So in doing some research, according to Deloitte between 2001 and 2015 approximately 800k jobs were replaced due to automation. Now the study goes on further to note that automation within that time frame also created 3.2m new ones.

As time goes on, we'll see the disappearance of certain sectors to be replaced by others. We can use some common sense to come up with this as well: what happened to the thousands of scribes when Gutenburg's printing press was introduced into the world? Also, the current employment rate for horse-and-buggy operators on the planet stands at 0%. Now all of those occupations were replaced by others. This is what I am trying to convey in this piece — the opportunity for entrepreneurship through blogging/online business is at an infancy stage and projected to grow.

I hope this helps and again thank you for your amazing question.

Cheers,

Jon
