Spot on, man! I love Montaigne as well — have you ever read Stefan Zweig's biography of the man? It's incredible.

This is an idea of "full integration" into the material (though I'm sure there is a more formal name for it) and I think that it can be applied to topics/skills other than language.

Have you used this method in any other part of your life?
