21 Stone-Cold Truths About Life That Will Make You An Unrelenting Force To Be Reckoned With.

Hacking the knowledge of the Universe to propel your future success.

he Universe is ripe with knowledge for the taking.

All too often do we find ourselves sitting on the floor (both metaphorically and literally) thinking about how we found ourselves in this less-than-ideal situation.

We know it in our hearts that we're destined for something else.

Perhaps it's getting out the cubicle-epidemic and out into the real world of freedom and creativity. Maybe it's being able to be a shining light for the community we are building around us. All too often it's something incredibly simple and just mustering up the courage to meet and talk with a new group of individuals.

Regardless of the situation, there are foundational truths that can help open up blind-spots that may be lingering in your life.

When you erase the "hidden truths" that may be lying dormant in your life, it has the potential to make you think (which is all too short in supply these days) and develop into the success you know you are capable of.

1. You are a node in a network.

The actions I make today will have a ripple effect unfathomable to my extent. I could help drive this world into more misery or I could help the light of the world shine brighter. I choose the latter.

2. You are the only one that is going to deal with that “voice in my head.”

In final moments before falling asleep and the immediate moments when I wake up it’s just me. It’s my responsibility to follow that “voice.”

3. It’s not what you write that’s important but that you sit down, open your computer and start writing.

The hardest part is getting started. It’s my responsibility to write the work I want to write. To push through resistance.

4. No potential romantic partner will be “perfect.”

Be humble and kill the Ego telling me that I need to find the perfect person- they don’t exist. Now I can get pretty damn close if I work on myself and look hard enough.

5. This is the only body you will have for the rest of my life.

Of course until we have the technology to download our consciousnesses into another surrogate body… I need to take care of it with both my diet and regular exercise to realize it’s optimal life.

6. This is the only brain you will have for the rest of my life.

I need to learn and absorb information, knowledge and insight that will help that muscle grow into my most important organ.

7. Loved ones die.

This is a truth in life. We are all on borrowed time. There is no point in wallowing in their loss. Understand their lessons and their gifts and share them with the others around you.

8. You will die.

Putting all theories and beliefs of the afterlife aside- this is my one shot to live the life I want. There will be sacrifice, there will be struggle and most importantly, if I work hard enough, there will be triumph.

9. Fulfillment doesn’t come without struggle.

This is true by definition: you cannot have good without bad. Nothing in life is Norman Rockwell, Valhalla true bliss. In life you will suffer. With the suffering comes triumph. Pushing the “hard button” over the “easy button” is the right choice.

10. Your employer only cares about you so much.

At the end of the day, you are nothing but an asset. You aren’t a friend, you aren’t family you are a tool. You can be a positive tool if you do the “right” things and a negative tool if you do the “bad” things.

11. Being fired is a humbling experience and will make you better.

You aren’t invincible. If you are fired in life (which I recommend) learn from it. Where did you go wrong? Why were you fired? What lessons do you need to absorb from the experience?

12. Your parents will die.

At some point it’s your responsibility to carry the torch and lead your family name. Be happy with this responsibility and care for it well.

13. Honesty is the best policy.

The truth will set you free. Stop lying, stop digging a hole. Tell people the truth and perhaps more importantly tell yourself the truth.

14. Bad things happen to good people.

That good person could be you. You are going to get punched in life. What matters is how you respond to the punches.

15. People don’t care about you as much as you think they care.

At the end of the day, people care about themselves. They don’t care that you looked stupid at the dinner party, they don’t care that your jeans looked weird. What matters is you care what you think.

16. Only love can extinguish hate.

Hate, force and violence is an ugly, detestable trait of the human condition. Focus on spreading love whenever possible.

17. There’s the truth and then there’s your opinion.

Sometimes your Ego makes it hard to distinguish between the two. Seek the truth whenever possible.

18. The quality of your poop is a good indicator of your health.

When you pass your poop, what does it look like? If it isn’t coming out feeling good then it’s probably a reflection of your insides. How long has this been going on?

19. The hardest conversations are the best conversations for your soul.

When you’re procrastinating having the conversation you know you are supposed to have you are setting yourself and the recipient back. Expand your consciousness.

20. Many people are just as afraid as I am.

We are all dealing with our own demons. Think about when you make eye contact with someone walking down the street. Chances are they look away in an instant, afraid of you as much as you may be of them.

21. Stand up for yourself.

No one will do it for you in your adulthood. Make sure you take that responsibility and stand up for yourself. Let your voice and your power be known.
